The new playground on Irisstraße in Nordhorn was designed to offer more play and movement options, making it more attractive for children of all ages and with different requirements. The inclusive approach was very important to the planners and the residents, who were involved via a citizen participation process.
In addition to a ball play area with mini playground goals and all sorts of options for play for younger and older children alike, we also introduced a number of special features with regard to accessibility.
The passage elements in different materials are intended to stimulate the senses, while inclusive play point C allows children with disabilities to play along. Children have the option of messing around at the sand play table, operating the sliding play wall or taking marvelling at the spiral effect of the double turntable.
Children of all ages will love the Utrecht Tower and the Hummel Playhouse. There are a number of seats for parents to watch their children playing.
