Come and Play in Wiesbaden's Adolfsallee

The play area on Adolfsallee in Wiesbaden city centre has once again become an attractive place for young and old – initiated by the city’s residents and, as a starter project, developed through collaboration between all generations and the planning workshop, commissioned by the City of Wiesbaden.

A cave labyrinth with high walls begins with a viewing tower and a branching ascent. The urban sand play area consists of three sand islands with dry and wet zones, brought to life by a water pump with channel systems. Old oak beams, roughly hewn, are interwoven in labyrinth fashion with partially movable slanted beams, pipes and ropes. A ‘calmer’ lounge area and retreat space for adults and children is provided by the family seating group.
